Catholic School Girls
By Kate L., Weymouth, MA
Don't try and candy-coat my life, Want me to lay it out in black and white. You assume my father's so rich and I act like a little queen. And to get what I want all I have to do is kick and scream. Well, snap back to reality and try to think, I don't drive around in my mini coop decaled all in pink. I work after school and do all my homework And, no, I don't run on drugs to do this until I turn blue. I have what I have because I did my best, I didn't open my shirt toward my teachers to expose my chest. I don't throw my weekends away on drugs and booze, Then go flirt, and giggle and act like a floozy. Now you've made your assumptions about us, Now it's our turn, Sit back, and listen and see what we've learned. You go to school late and leave before it's over, And before you showed up, you experimented with what you called a clover. You dress in what the popular kids wear to seem cool, Because who doesn't have every piece of Abercrombie in school? Let's guess what made you hate us girls, Was it our uniforms, smiles and curls? Or was it the fact that your boyfriend fell for one of us? So think what you want and so will we, Don't be jealous of what you'll never be.
