A Harmless Holiday

Teen Ink Blogs

By Madison B., San Antonio, TX

I was appalled by Kristen W.'s opinion piece about Halloween. It is part of our culture and I have celebrated it every year since I could walk. It is perfectly harmless if you know where you're going.

I have to ask Kristen, when did having fun and acting like a child disappear from your life? Halloween isn't supposed to be dangerous, it's a holiday where people of all ages can be someone else for a night and enjoy candy and other treats.

"There really is no reason to continue celebrating this insane day," Kristen writes. Well, if this is what you really believe, you're already one of those mindless adults who don't care about anything but work, being safe and not getting in trouble. Come on! Live a little, girl! You're only a teenager once.
