There's a Girl in My Hammerlock takes the reader to a junior high in the early1990s. There, you learn the hardships a girl experiences trying to be respectedfor her wrestling.

The main character, Maisie Potter, struggles to beaccepted as an equal on the wrestling team. The other members think she isn't asstrong as they are, but they underestimate her.

There's A Girl in MyHammerlock helps you understand what challenges females go through, and shows howkids treat each other when they are not masculine or feminine enough to fitsociety's vision. From this novel, I learned I can be anything I want if I try.
