Teen Ink Blogs

By Susie V., Phoenix, AZ

This book is great,
But not veryfun,
Although in the end,
The little boy won.

He had thecourage,
He had the strength,
To try to make it,
To the nextday.

After being starved,
And getting beaten,
All hewanted,
Was his life to sweeten’.

Why did his motherhate him so?
Why didn’t she give him love?
Did he dosomething wrong?
He was so tired of being shoved.

Although henever found,
Answers to his questions,
He had to seek help,
Atpsychiatric sessions.

He may be alone,
But at least he has hisfreedom,
He doesn’t live in the home,
Where his mom used tobeat him.

I’m requesting,
You check out thisbook,
Just walk in the library,
And take a look.

And whenyou see it
On the shelf,
Make sure you check it out
Just foryourself.
