Teen Ink: Our Voices, Our Visions
Mid South Independent Booksellers Association April May June issue
Do you advertise in
high school newspapers? Here's an ideal book for an ad if you do. Teen Ink, Our
Voices, Our Visions. Most of you probably have this new title in your store,
from HCI. As you may know, there's also Teen Ink magazine and a website,
www.TeenInk.com. During a recent conversation with John Meyer, the publisher, I
learned 1.5 million copies of the magazine are distributed annually to teachers
nationwide. John said thousands of independent booksellers have been receiving
free copies of the magazine for the past few months. Teen Ink, the book, is a
captivating collection of essays, poetry, fiction, and art that emerged from
reading over 300,000 submissions to Teen Ink magazine during recent years. In
other words, there is no professional staff of writers or reporters at Teen Ink,
all the material in the magazines, books, and website is written entirely by
teens. Which is why Teen Ink, Our Voices, Our Visions, is such a natural for an
ad or other notice to your middle and high school customers, their teachers, and
parents. In fact, today's Hero at www.TeenInk.com is NANCY MACE, who Donna
Cressman informs me will be speaking at one of our Trade Show Breakfasts! Nancy
is the first female to graduate from The Citadel. Her book, "In the Company of
Men; A Woman at the Citadel," will be published by Simon & Schuster this fall.
To order a sample copy of Teen Ink magazine, e-mail editor@TeenInk.com. To

from Teen Ink will be donated to the 501©3 nonprofit Young Authors Foundation,
founded by the Meyers, to support reading, writing, and publishing opportunities
for young adults.
